The Melbourne Vixens are a professional netball team based in Melbourne, Victoria, competing in the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN)league, Australia’s premier netball competition. Established in 2008, the Vixens have built a strong legacy as one of the most successful and respected teams in Australian netball. They play their home games at John Cain Arena, a venue known for its electrifying atmosphere and passionate supporters.
With a roster featuring some of the best domestic and international netballers, the Vixens have secured multiple championships and continue to be a powerhouse in the league. The team prides itself on its commitment to excellence, teamwork, and the development of future netball stars through its pathways program.
The Melbourne Vixens have been partnering with The Inclusion Project since 2024 and will continue their collaboration in the 2025 season.

A Sensory Map to identify high sensory and low sensory areas to help you navigate through the stadium and prepare for additional noise, crowded areas.

Social Stories that illustrate how to navigate the venue or event, displayed through pictures in an easy to understand structure.

A lanyard to wear from arrival at the stadium to allow staff to recognise that you may require additional assistance throughout the event or matchday

Access to Sensory Friendly Space which is designed to provide sensory relief and stimulation for people living with sensory needs. Operated by Occupational Therapists to provide individualised support for participants.

What loud noises can happen at the game?
During the pre-match there will be announcements over the PA system , music will also be playing throughout the venue. Pre match introductions will be done along with LED flashing lights.

Is there any rounds that will be particularly loud?
The Melbourne Vixens consistently sell out their matches. There are certain themed rounds such as Indigenous Round and Inclusion Round.

Trains, trams and buses operate frequently, dropping you right at the door of the precinct.

Tram 70 (Wattle Park) from Flinders Street and Richmond Stations. These stop at Rod Laver Arena (Stop 7B), John Cain Arena (Stop 7C) and AAMI Park (Stop 7D).
Tram 48 (North Balwyn) and Tram 75 (Vermont South). These stop adjacent to the MCG on Wellington Parade.
Bus
Bus 246 (Latrobe Uni – Elsternwick Station) stops at the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Punt Road.
