HAWKS IN THE COMMUNITY

One for all and all for one, is the way we play at Hawthorn

WHY WE EXIST

Sport is the ultimate vehicle to facilitate sustainable social and cultural change within our community and we embrace this unique opportunity to make a real difference. Our community programs and partnerships empower us to develop greater opportunities for engagement, inclusion, equality and diversity whilst fostering a culture of collaboration.

INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT AND EMPOWERMENT

Close the gap in Indigenous health and education by delivering programs that focus on improving the education, mental health and social/emotional well-being of Indigenous people. Our aim is to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to reach their full potential.

MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING

Increase the awareness of mental health issues and bring about behavioural change by delivering education programs that equip young Australians with the knowledge of, and tools required, to tackle anxiety and depression so they can help themselves and others.

SOCIAL INCLUSION

Create programs that empower people of all abilities, genders and cultural backgrounds to collaborate and integrate, creating a sense of equality and belonging. Our aim is to create a more accepting and inclusive community and environment.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible

"I love that Hawthorn is a family community that involves everyone, I feel very welcomed." - Ollie Oglethorpe Hawthorn AFL Blind Player

Hawthorn Community Foundation acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of the lands and water on which we live, learn, work and play. We pay respects to Elders both past and present and stand together with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders of today and tomorrow.
