Hawks For All Inclusive Schools Program
The Hawks For All Schools Program increases the empathy and understanding of students in a main stream school setting by exposing them to the challenges and potential of people living with disability. The program uses inclusive football as a vehicle to do this with the program facilitated by players from Hawthorn‘s Wheelchair Football and AFL Blind teams. Hawks For All allows students to experience what it is like to live with a physical disability and visual impairment by having students wear visual simulators and experience time in a wheelchair.
AFL Blind
The VBFL provides the opportunity for Victorians with a range of visual impairments to participate in AFLW at a competitive level.
Wheelchair AFL
Hawthorn Football Club is one of five AFL teams to receive a Victorian Wheelchair Football League (VWFL) license. Governed by AFL Victoria, the Victorian Wheelchair Football League exists to provide an organised regular competition for the sport of AFL Wheelchair in Victoria, demonstrating what’s possible for people with a disability and that AFL can be everyone’s game.
THE FIDA FOOTY SHOW
The FIDA Footy Show is a podcast produced by Hawks Community Foundation and FIDA players, for the FIDA football community. The 8-part podcast series hosted by Lachlan Essing from the Ferntree Gully Seagulls along with Emily Ferguson is for the FIDA community to come together to talk all things FIDA, AFL and AFLW. This is a platform for footy lovers alike to get the latest news on their local club.
Inclusion Match
Inclusion Match is Hawthorn's opportunity to empower people of all abilities to ensure they feel included, live well and contribute to their local community.
